Why?

Diya...

Why lately you are a such picky eater? You just wont eat... Sometimes mumy had to make 3 dishes just so you will eat something... Are you growing more tooth?

Why lately u whine so much? Almost all the time.. You cling on me, pull my shorts, pull my shirts and hug me tight always... Why? you are never gonna loose mumy dear... I will always be there for you... i even leave the toilet door open just to let you know I'm there... Eheheh...

Why lately u easily gets upset? Grumpy everytime you couldn't get what you want, sometimes you just get upset over nothing or myb mumy just didn't get you at that time? You cant reach the ball you will get angry, anything...

Why do you sleep so late lately? Almost everynite mumy like a 'jaga' already coz you just wouldn't sleep.. At 1 in the morning you are still fresh to play! And mumy had to be awake to make sure you dont get yourself hurt, like slipped ker, fell down ker, or reach anything you are not suppose to...

And lastly...

Why mumy couldn't understand what you're talking about most of the time?

Diya on A Lazy MONDAY…

Here is Diya on a lazy Monday morning… why do I say Lazy MONDAY morning instead of Sunday normally? Its becoz I always have Monday blues ehehe so I always make MONDAY as my official off day from cake orders and house work!

Like always… I will make Diya her breakfast whis her favourite is Vanilla pancake with maple syrup; sometimes I’ll serve with fresh fruits like banana or mango (strawberry is always for me not yet for Diya eheheh) and she LOVE them soooo much ehehe…

Lucky me she behaves well when it comes to her food especially her pancake eheheh, so she sits well on the high stool (ofcoz im always beside her just incase) and enjoys her food and drinks. I place the stool in between the living room and my kitchen so she can watch TV while having breakfast. I serve warm straight from the pan as she likes and she always wants more. Now she can easily have 3-4 pieces alone! But I make in small sizes la so she can hold herself if she wants to…

Mumy Love Diya so MUCH!!!

My Brownie Decorating

This is me with my brownie ehehehe…

Last Saturday my mom had some guests coming over to her place for dinner and so she asked me to make my brownie as her desert menu. So there I was with my cupcake tool box and an early preparation of buttercream frosting for her brownie ehehehe… while I was working I hadn’t notice people were surrounding me and watching me decorating all the pieces of brownie it felt wiered because all this while I only work alone at home and only diya is my BIG FAN eheheh…

Anyways, I managed to decorate the brownies with some flower details and my ganache frosting. I had all the brownies cut into 16 pieces (I think medium bite sizes) for everyone to enjoy and place them in a silver medium size paper cups for more exclusive looks... Presentation matters the most eheheh...

I wish I can attend cake decorating school soon. All this while I learn through experience and trial & error, I really need to learn on the techniques of cake decorating as lately I am sooooo into bakings! As soon I have enough money I sure will attend the course I have always wanted to eheheh…

Hopefully one day I will succeed in my baking business…

Diya at Gymboree!

Last weekend Diya had an invitation to a birthday party; Qarissa Rania’s 1st party at Gymboree, Bangsar. So I brought her there. Since Diya is quite older already so I took her for quick early lunch 1st before attending the party, we had nasi lemak and roti bakar with iced tea together with my best fren Debbie and her son Damian.

After lunch all of us went to the party place and the kids were soooo excited to see the place soo colourful and cheerful eheheh…

Diya and Damian both were very excited! They LOVE balls sooooo much! And they had FUN on the seashore too… Up and down.. up and down.. ahahahah… Both Diya and Damian keep fighting for balls all the time, very funny.. look at the picture below

Everywhere they go they only care bout the balls ahahaha… But later another thing captured Diya’s attention which was the maracas!!!!! I will try to post the video here eheheh…

It was about 45 minutes to one hour for the whole fun games and activities to end. They even had cake cutting session which Diya was very excited and so kepochi eheheh…

Later and the end of the session each of the kids were given a goodie bag with a ballon from gymboree. Diya had her's hide at one corner so other kids will not grab her’s muahahahah!!!! Damian was obsessed with his and keeps figuring out how to grab the floating ballon instead.

As for myself, I get to meet other moms who are in my blog list too eheheh….

Happy Birthday dear Qarissa Rania!!!!

My Chicken Pie

This is my version of chicken pie which I always make for my family… the originality of this recipe comes from my best fren’s family pie they call it ‘Moreira Pie’. This pie is sooooo sedap when Debbie made for me so I just had to make more for myself... with some additional ingredients I then call it my chicken pie!

Ingredients:

500g of chicken cubes (u can also use any part of the chicken as u like just cut into small bite pieces

3 carrots (cut into cubes, you can opt for mixed vegetable if you like)

1 can of button mushrooms (if you can get fresh mushrooms so much better)

3 bay leaves

1 tbs garlic paste

½ tsp dry or fresh parsley

½ tsp basil dry herbs

½ tsp thyme dry herbs

½ cup of thick cream (u can opt for half can of instant mushroom soup)

Chicken stok (I use mini cubes)

Black pepper, salt, sugar for seasonings

* You can add chicken sosej and some boiled eggs if you like

Topping:

1 bag of potato boiled until soften and mashed with butter, thick cream, salt and pepper. Leave aside.

Method:

Heat little oil and stir fry garlic paste, chicken, mushroom and carrots. If you wish to put sausage just wait a little longer than add in. once they are cooked add in bay leaves and dried herbs, chicken stock, add in a little bit of water and the thick cream (if you’re using mushroom soup then mix the paste with hot water then add in instead of the thick cream also ignore the chicken stock- everything is in the canned soup already). Continue to fry and wait until thickens. Add in flavorings. Once cooked put in a oven proof bakeware and cover with the mashed potato earlier. Spread a thin layer of egg yolk on the top and bake in the oven until golden brown. Let it cool before serve. You can serve with home made brown gravy (will post in my next recipe ehehehhe…)

Vegetable Curry or Sardine Curry

Ingredients:

2 pcs of Brinjals (clean and cute into bite sizes)

4 pcs of lady finger (small sizes and clean them)

1 tomato (diced)

Cabage leaves (as you like)

Long beans (as u like)

2 tbs fish curry opaste (curry powder mix with water)

1tbs garlic paste

1tbs shallots paste

Fresh coconut milk(as u like or around 3 tbs of thick packet coconut milk)

½tsp of mixed herbs(rempah campur, they normally have dis in fish curry)

Tamarind juice (as u like)

Salt and sugar to taste… (ps; I always use brown sugar in my cookings they taste nicer)

Method:

Mixed all paste including curry paste in a small bowl and add in a little water if they are too dry. Mix tamarind paste with some water to make the juice and put everything aside.

Heat oil in small pot and stir fry the mixed herbs until they popped. Then add in the mixed paste and continue to fry until fragrant (malay say until pecah minyak). Then add in da tamarind juice and some HOT water (to balance up the temperature and cut your cooking time instead of waiting for the water to boil ehheheh). Add in the coconut milk and continue to stir. Once boil just add in the vegetables and seasonings to taste. (Brown sugar is to balance the sour taste from the tamarind juice plus to make the gravy taste more ‘lemak’ but not too much tho ehehehe… once the vege is soft remove from heat and serve HOT.

I always serve my vege curry with fried chicken or fish and even make my crispy prawn fritters!

*I use the same recipe for my sardine curry; just add in 1 small can of sardine with half the tomato paste and use lady fingers as the side vege.

MomBloggersPlanet Cutest Baby in CAR SEAT Contest

Hello moms out there…

Recently I just got to know that one of the mom’s blogger communities that I have joined is promoting Cutest Baby Photo Contest throughout the year. I guessed I have missed half of the year due to my busyness with baking eheheh… so I am not going to miss this one. The theme for July is Cutest Baby in CAR SEAT! I really hope Diya can win ehehehe….

This is my little pumpkin Diya Zafeerah age 1 year and 10 months born on 20th September 2007

~~~~Diya grows as well as her Car Seat ~~~~
She eats and sleeps in her seat nicely…
DIYA…. Snap... snap..!!
Her cat toy calms her every time in her car seat!
She has grown sooo much so we had to get her a bigger car seat…
I always have the car seat for Diya even if we are using a different car…
~~~~The story~~~~

The first thing I have ever got for Diya once I knew bout my pregnancy was the car seat. This is because I knew I will be traveling a lot with her alone; to supermarkets, shopping malls, to my mom’s place and everywhere else (I am a fulltime housewife ahaks...). So one day I saw this offer they had in ‘planet of Infants’ bangsar branch the stroller comes with the car seat as a set instead of buying them separately. Diya 1st car seat was Preego brand rm950 but with the promotion going on I was able to get the stroller and the attached car seat for RM2000 NETT. The car seat can be attached to the stroller so I don’t have to carry out Diya from car seat to her stroller and vice versa. I was able to mobile easily with her buckled safely in her seat through out my driving eheheh… she is right beside me all the time, with her cat toy make things easier for me because she is more calm with it. If she gets cranky at anytime I will just stop at the road side (a safe spot of cause) and breast feed her for a while.

At one time I had an experience where I did not put Diya on her car seat one night because I was just going out for a while nearby to tapau food. Somehow I missed a huge bumped and went over! Lucky I was able to hold Diya’s head with one hand from knocking the dash board! I regret that night until today, it was totally my mistake. Car Seat is so IMPORTANT!

Later she grows bigger and taller and couldn’t fit in the seat anymore huhuhuhu… I had to get her a new one… since her 1st car seat only lasted for about 1 year and 2 months; I decided to get her a cheaper version of the car seat ahahahah… kids grow soooo fast and I learnt my lesson not to buy too expensive gadgets anymore eheheh… so I went and look for the one she would like and finally I found one! In Anakku, Curve Damansara RM469. She loves the velvet material and PINK color. (How I know she likes pink is because they had it in two colors pink and blue so I made her choose and three times she will sit on the pink one! Ehehehe…). With the bigger car seat it can still be in three positions where she can be comfortable to sleep in. I trained her to seat at the back of the car slowly and she is very happy in her car seat until today and I know she will always be safe back there…
